How to compress an image to 50 KB or 100 KB
Turn on the Target file size setting and pick the number you need. The tool tests several quality levels and keeps the sharpest picture that still fits. If a large phone photo will not go under the limit, also set Maximum side to 1280 or 1024 pixels. Fewer pixels means a much smaller file.
JPG, PNG or WebP: which is smallest?
For photos, WebP is usually smallest, then JPG. PNG keeps every pixel perfectly, so it stays large and is best for logos and screenshots. Choose JPG when a website only accepts JPG or JPEG.
